The Story of My 60-Year Art Journey

Late 1980s - early 2000s

It was at this time that I made a major discovery -- I could use art projects to teach math! My first project was math journals (based on the Indiana Jones Grail Diary).

I spearheaded the use of journals to teach math. My journals included
  1. Instructional content which serves the same purpose as lecture notes.
  2. Pages where students researched subjects on the Internet.
  3. Diagrams, charts, and illustrations.
  4. Pages where the students select the math-related topic.

The journal project earned me an educator of the year award from the state Art Education Association.
