The Story of My 60-Year Art Journey

1970 - 1972 University of North Carolina at Greensboro

I researched and studied books on symbolism, psychology and art, the fourth dimension, and spirituality in art. I was heavily influenced by Asian art.

I eventually came to recognize that my geometric paintings were probably too mathematical and intellectual to communicate metaphysically.

For this reason, my painting at this time shifted direction. I painted large, heavily textured canvases with many layers of paint.

I earned my MFA degree in 1972.
